Setup steps
Connect your brand domain to ViaLink in four steps.
Add a DNS record
In the DNS settings for the subdomain you want to use (e.g. links.yourbrand.com), add a CNAME record pointing to edge.vialink.app.
Register the domain in the dashboard
In ViaLink dashboard → App → Custom Domain, enter the domain address and click [Add Domain].
DNS propagation & automatic SSL
It takes up to 24 hours for the DNS change to propagate worldwide. Once verified, an SSL certificate is issued automatically and served instantly over HTTPS.
Confirm connection & create links
Once the domain is connected, new deep link URLs are generated on your custom domain. The slug (app identifier) is replaced by the host and no longer appears in the URL. e.g. links.yourbrand.com/[shortCode]
Data model
Custom domains are managed at the app level.
App
Manages one custom domain, the CNAME target, and the SSL certificate.
Link
Once a custom domain is connected to an app, all deep link URLs are generated on that domain.
Event
Click and install events through a custom domain are collected and analyzed identically.
